What your About me text is for
Your city, services and prices are already in your ad. The About me text answers a different question: what is it like to spend time with you? A reader who likes the answer writes to you.
A simple structure
Four short parts are enough:
- Who you are, in one line.
- What a meeting with you is like.
- Who you get along with best.
- How to contact you first.
Three bios in different styles
Warm and relaxed: “I’m Mia, 28, from Wellington. I love slow evenings, good conversation and a glass of wine before anything else. Most of my guests are regulars who like a relaxed pace. Text me the day and time you have in mind.”
Elegant: “Sophie, Zurich. I speak German, French and English, and I’m as happy at a business dinner as on a quiet evening at your hotel. I take bookings a day ahead, so please write with your plans and your name.”
Playful: “Hi, I’m Lena. I laugh a lot, I’m curious and I don’t take myself too seriously. If you want someone easy to talk to, we’ll get along. Message me on WhatsApp; I usually answer within an hour.”
Each one says who she is, what time with her feels like and how to make the first step. Write yours in the same order, in your own words.
What to leave out
- Phrases every ad uses, such as “unforgettable” or “your dream girl”.
- Long lists of adjectives.
- Anything already in your ad, such as prices and services.
- Promises you cannot keep, such as being available at any hour.
